On Sunday, October 10, we’ll cancel our regular worship service and complete service projects, including making and delivering a snack to Bailey’s Crossroads Shelter, cleaning up outdoor plantings at Thomas Jefferson Library, distributing fire prevention materials, highway cleanup, packing school kits for children in refugee camps.  To participate, please contact the church at 703 560-5288 or knoxpreschurch@vacoxmail.com.  We have a form for signups so you can tell us which project you want to participate in and whether you’ll then join us for a celebratory dinner at 5 p.m. the same day.  project_signup_form2

School kits

In order to assemble school kits, we need donations of some school supplies as follows:

To assemble a School Kit we need:

  ♦ One pair of blunt metal scissors (rounded tip)

  ♦ Three 70-count spiral notebooks or notebooks totaling 200-210 pages (No loose-leaf or filler paper)

  ♦  One 30-centimeter ruler (12”)

  ♦ One hand-held pencil sharpener

  ♦ One large eraser

  ♦ Six new pencils with erasers

  ♦ One box of 24 crayons (only 24)

  ♦ One 12” X 14” to 14” X 17” finished size cotton bag with cloth handles. ( Please no reusable shopping bags or backpacks.)  We’ll be sewing the bags—we need 1/2 yard of child-appropriate fabric for each bag.

  ♦  $2 per kit for processing
